Hinged door
This consists of a door (with its architrave/frame) that is mounted beneath a crossbar and between two vertical columns.
Structure
Start by assembling the skeletal structure, i.e. pushing the steel ends of the crossbars into the grooves of the vertical columns and clamping them using the hexagonal screws inserted diagonally from above and below. If necessary, use the optional telescopic extensions to attach the profiles to the host-building’s walls and ceilings. The standard height of a crossbar is 2225 mm to its top edge (2160 mm + 65 mm).
To speed things up, pre-assemble components on the floor before erecting them.
Use a corner reinforcement inside every 90o angle to stabilise and stiffen the structures and speed assembly.
Small height corrections of the vertical columns are made using the integral adjusting screw.
Crossbars may not be longer than 4000 mm without support from a vertical column or element.
Elements
Using its adjustable feet, adjust the height of an element when offering it up to a crossbar so it easily fits underneath.
Adapters are slid along the groove of the crossbar until they meet the corresponding fitting in the element’s profile for securing. Neighbouring elements are connected using one adapter between them.
Elements have seals down their vertical profiles that automatically push into the profile when offered up against another component.
After an element has been attached above, height corrections are made using its adjustable feet. For security, a plastic clip is pushed over the connection of two elements to hold them in line.
Cosmetic covering strips can be inserted at the edge of the elements to hide the joins, especially in corridors.
Add-on elements
These are inserted between the crossbar and ceiling using plastic clips; use additional fixing screws in the crossbar if necessary. Add-on elements can be arranged in pairs, with an extension column between the pairs.
Decorative add-on elements need an extension column between each one.
Frameless decorative add-on elements are inserted directly into the grooves of the crossbar and vertical columns.
When planning, allow for a gap of at least 20 mm between the top of any element and the ceiling.
Electric panels are linked as per elements.
Blanking panel
This panel is inserted between an element and the structure of the host-building. As a rule it should be ordered slightly bigger than required and cut to the size needed on site. The panel is then clamped between the groove of the last vertical column and the groove of the wall fixing, which takes the form of a semicircular column. The panel is in silver-coloured grooved aluminium as it can be slightly bent during installation if necessary.
Hinged door
An architrave/frame is needed to install a hinged door. It is always inserted between two vertical columns and beneath the crossbar, and screws into their profiles. The door is then mounted into the architrave/frame using the appropriate fittings.
Sliding door
The sliding door is always mounted between two vertical columns and is independent of the actual opening between the neighbouring elements. The door’s support-rail attaches to the side groove of the crossbar above. The rollers are attached to the door, and the door then hung from the rail. A 50 mm guide bracket, fixed at floor level, keeps the door in place.
Gypsum foam
Ecological and harmless to health, Preform’s gypsum foam is made from water and gypsum powder, a by-product of exhaust gas desulphurisation. After a polymer is added, a 100% recyclable foam is produced that hardens into any desired shape. As well as its excellent acoustic properties, it contributes considerably to a comfortable indoor climate by its ability to absorb and release moisture from the air. It has a Class B1 fire rating.
