Down with disturbance!
Acoustic disturbance negatively impacts on concentration and the ability to work.
An office’s level of acoustic comfort can be improved by erecting a screen of sufficient height between the source of the noise and those being disturbed. This screen needs to be of absorptive material, with a rigid core that can both reflect and absorb sound.
The sound hits and enters the rigid core, and is absorbed again as it is reflected back out, reaching the receiver in an attenuated, diffuse form.
